My name is Sheila Weinstein. I’m going to be 82 years old next month.
I lived in New York for years before I moved back to Florida. And while I was there, I noticed I was having a lot of problems, most probably from being athletic when I was younger. I sought out someone who had been recommended to me. He was a manual physical therapist. I didn’t really know what that was until he began working on me. No machines, nothing but his hands on my body, working out all the problems that I had.
I was so taken with it and felt so much better that I was really worried when I moved back to Florida that I would never be able to find that kind of treatment again. But I did. I found it at John Getz Physical Therapy, specifically with Aaron Robles.
He has managed my problems before I had to have surgery on my hips. He got me ready for the surgery.
Following the surgery, he got me back walking and has actually taken care of all of my other arthritic problems from then on. Being 82, I have the usual problems of aging, including knees that don’t work like they used to.
I have to climb 18 steps to get to my home, and with Aaron’s help, I’ve been able to strengthen my legs, my thighs, to take the weight off my knees, and I hope that continues. I continue with physical therapy weekly because if I didn’t, I know that being a writer, I’m at the computer all the time. I’m a pianist, so I’m at the piano, and I have neck problems and back problems ongoing. But with the physical therapy that I receive here, I can manage my life beautifully and am generally free of pain.
